The Fourth Generation Lineup of Mazda 3
It is the fourth-generation of Mazda 3 that is getting ready to roll on the auto show ramp in a few days. Reliable sources say, that we can surely expect some small changes that should enhance the overall driving experience of this second year launch of the Mazda 3 series on the market.
As per the leaked information, the year 2020 will bring the Mazda 3 series with an added i-Activsense package that will consist of the latest driver-assist features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and lane-keep assist. All these features will be made available to all its sedan models.
If you compare with its existing 2019 model, these features can be seen as standard configuration only for the higher trim levels for the sedans but were there on all hatchback models.
The base model of the 2020 Mazda 3 sedan will now include all these above mentioned safety features making its mark equal to its rival models like the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, which will also include all these active-safety features as standard for all their 2020 trim levels.
To be still available in sedan and hatchback garbs, the 2020 year lineup of Mazda 3 will however, known to be coming in a single engine and powertrain choice, which is a 2.5-liter inline-four one essentially paired with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual counterpart.
The Mazda car dealership we visited last week explained that this 2.5-liter inline-four engine as the sole choice for the entire 2020 year lineup of Mazda 3 ideally mated to either a six speed automatic transmission or a manual counterpart is configured wither as front- or as all-wheel drive. But some say that there is a chance that Mazda introduces its latest Skyactiv-X compression-ignition-capable engine in the 2020 Mazda 3 series, especially for its U.S market.
The ones who could manage to click a few pictures of the 2020 Mazda 3 also say that Mazda has changed the earlier wheel finish with a new one on the Premium trim level, making it look awesome and predicted that the 2020 model year of Mazda 3 sedan series might go on sale this month of September.
